Stacey Roy

Hi! I'm Stacey Roy and I wanted to focus on fast fashion's impact in South Asia in particular because countries such as Bangladesh, India and Cambodia are major hotspots that are disproportionately hurt by this industry. It is heartbreaking to see how the wealth gap between poor workers and large corporations that value profit over people has only gotten larger, and the amount of lives that the industry has taken. No person's life should be regarded as dispensible for fashion.

Ramani Amon

Hello, my name is Ramani Amon and I decided to focus on fast fashion's impact on workers in South Asia because of the lack of regulation that factories follow and the fact that certain big comapnies don't pay their workers anything. The main places where the factories are set are in Bangladesh and Cambodia where most of the workers' pay go towards the comapny rather than themselves. Fashion is a huge part of our day to day lives as it is a form of expression and can show who I am as a person. Buying from fast fashion companies that are not paying workers make those who are deciding to purchse from the company less likely to. It's better to buy from local companies, second hand online shops, and local thrift stores.
